The challenge
The situation
A university's corporate training team was owed £68,640 by an energy company in Oman for training it had delivered. The invoices were almost two years old.
What we did
What happened
The debtor contact's email address bounced, and its phone lines either rang out or didn't connect. Once the university had sent its invoices and booking correspondence, we referred the case to a local agent in the region, with the client's agreement.
Progress through the agent was slow. In the meantime, our team kept working the debtor's own contacts and finally reached the people processing the payment. When finance said payment would come at the end of the following month, we kept pushing for a firm date and proof of transfer.
The outcome
The result
Paid in full: £68,640.
