It's just badly evidenced — and that's fixable.
logistics, freight and parcel clients, from global forwarders to regional hauliers and parcel networks.
Demurrage, detention, waiting time and storage are the first charges a customer disputes and the last anyone gets round to chasing.
Statutory interest at 8% above base runs from the first day an undisputed invoice is overdue. Most creditors never claim it.
We understand the movement behind the invoice
We speak the language
CMR notes, bills of lading, demurrage and detention, waiting time, fuel surcharges, RHA and BIFA conditions — everyday work here, not an exception.
Legal support from day one
STA Legal, our sister firm of solicitors, can escalate the moment a case needs it, without a panel firm reading the file cold.
Trusted across the sector
82 clients in freight, parcel and logistics, spanning global forwarders, specialist couriers and regional operators.
Fast, because margins are thin
Average recovery in 3–4 weeks. On sub-contracted haulage margins an aged debtor eats the profit on every job that followed, and we collected in 154 countries last year.
Five steps, the same on every logistics case.
You always know where the file sits and what happens next.

Questions logistics clients ask us
What does "No Collection, No Commission" mean?
If we don't recover anything, you pay nothing. No placement fees, no upfront costs, no hourly billing: our commission is a percentage of what we bring in, so our incentive matches yours from day one. If you decide to take a case to court, STA Legal agrees its costs with you in writing before anything is issued.
How quickly can you start?
Usually the same working day. Placing a debt through Your Debts Online takes a few minutes, and first contact with the debtor goes out within 24 hours of the file being validated. Speed matters: recovery odds drop sharply after 90 days.
What if the debtor is overseas?
We recover from debtors worldwide, and over the last year we collected in 154 countries. Most international cases are handled from our UK office and settle without proceedings, which matters, because litigating abroad often costs more than the debt. Commission is 15%. If a case needs to transfer to a local agent, the rate increases, but only with your approval.
What happens if the debtor still won't pay?
We review the file with you at 30 days and set out the options. If you decide to escalate, the case goes to our solicitors at STA Legal with its full history. They issue proceedings, obtain judgment and enforce it, with costs agreed with you before anything is issued. Escalation is always your decision, never an automatic step.
Can you recover demurrage, detention and storage charges?
Yes, and they're among the most common cases we take. These charges are usually recoverable where the trading conditions and the timestamps support them — the evidence trail tends to work in your favour.
The customer is disputing the rate, not the delivery. What then?
We still act, and we assess the dispute properly first. A genuine rate dispute needs resolving on the confirmation and the conditions, and we'll tell you if that's what you're facing. A rate queried after the job to buy time is a different matter.
