Debt collection for businesses with consumer customers.
When your customers are individuals, how a debt is recovered matters as much as whether it is. We're FCA authorised and provide consumer debt collection for businesses, at volume, for online platforms, broadband providers and healthcare practices. You pay 15% of what we recover and nothing if we don't, and every account is handled fairly and in line with Consumer Duty.
We act for businesses, not individuals. Received a letter from us? Make a payment or get help →
Why it works
Fair by design
Our processes are built around the FCA's Consumer Duty. Vulnerable customers are identified, recorded and treated appropriately, and contact is adjusted to suit them.
Self-service that people use
Many customers would rather not talk. Our self-service hub lets them pay, set up an affordable plan or ask for help online, at any hour.
Built for volume
Bulk placement and reporting through Your Debts Online, whether you send us ten accounts or ten thousand.
Tracing included
If a customer has moved, our sister company UK Tracing can find them, at £35 + VAT per successful trace within the recovery process.

Common questions
Are you regulated?
Yes. STA International is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN 705183) for debt collection, and is a member of the Credit Services Association.
How do you handle vulnerable customers?
We identify, record and act on vulnerability. That means pausing contact, adjusting how we communicate, or referring the customer to free debt advice. You can see what happened on every account.
Will you chase customers aggressively?
No. Our approach is firm, fair and documented. Complaints are rare, and when they happen they're handled under our complaints procedure.
What does debt recovery cost?
Commission on what we recover: 10% for UK business debtors, 15% for debtors outside the UK and 15% for consumer debts. Nothing to set up, and nothing to pay if we don't collect. For large or regular portfolios, tell us the volumes and we'll quote.
Can you take court action against individuals?
Yes, through STA Legal, but only with your approval, after the Pre-Action Protocol for Debt Claims has been followed, and only where it's proportionate.
Other ways we collect
