The challenge

The situation

An international financial data provider had been owed $95,400 for 19 months by a large professional services firm, on a single invoice.

What we did

What happened

The firm's procurement contact told us payment had been approved and would go out within the week. Nothing arrived. When we called the accounts department, they had no record of the supplier and asked us to send the invoice again. The firm was in the middle of a big internal reorganisation, and the invoice had fallen between teams.

We kept calling and emailing. When we set a deadline, warning that a letter before action and then a statutory demand would follow, procurement got the payment expedited.

The outcome

The result

Paid in full, $95,400, 22 days after placement.
